 Hi All,
We've had several foggy starts to the day this past 5 days. Autumn is here! Pleased to see the back of summer (again) This shot is a view I see every day as I drive to work. It's the top of the Strachan St. hill in Birregurra Vic. The most distant "blob' in the mist is Mt. Gellibrand. Time was 7:45am Handheld f/7 1/100th ISO 200 12mm. I had to sharpen it a bit in PS . I'm quite pleased with this one. Hope you like it too!
 Cheers,

Absolutely brilliant - my only critique is there appears to be a tad too much USM. With this kind of shot it needs to be very soft to add to the mystery and beauty Chris--------------------------------

This is beautiful, Matty! Though it makes me feel cold just looking at it! Don't you love mornings like this when we haven't even had a decent Summer

Matty that shot is sensational. I am stuck in the Sydney humdrum. Ahh, if only I could drive down that road every morning life for me would be (or seem) a little easier. Great work! I know nutzinc

 Matt
Beauitiful tonings - a great capture. I didn't notice the USM till I looked, but this really does deserve a soft focus.

Ahh the memories.... I remember that road well! Many years back I'd just got a new car and took it out on the first weekend to the Great Ocean Road. On the way back through Birregurra an old Ford Cortina without mudflaps sprayed stones all over my car, pitting the bonnet and writing off my windscreen Alistair

Can I say as an inexperienced newcomer that I love this photo.
So much so that if I ever am able to take one like it I will hang it proudly
 in a prominent place.

I am interested to know how much the colours are straight out of the camera
 or tweaked in PP.

 Great shot

Lovely soft feel to this. If it were mine, I'd be tempted to just crop off the slight overexposed area at the top of the image. But it's not mine, much as I'd be proud of it!

Geez, thanks all for your kind words, I have the internet working now and can reply to some. Chris, in hindsight I will agree with you on the heavy hand re: sharpening. I will print this one and will leave the sharpen out. Greolt, yes, the colours are straight out of the camera - set in normal mod e and white bal pre-set mod e. I did crop a little off the top and bottom of the image to give a more pano- look to it, cricketfan, I might try a couple more crop efforts before I print. I really love my new 12-24mm Nikkor - thanks Birdy! Shoot early - Shoot often

Great photo - captured early Autumn very well. Most inspiring. I really enjoy the change of seasons - up here in Brisbane it is just starting to get "cooller" (in the mornings at least) but I don't think there are many oportunities for photos like this.Cheers
