Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I'm just back from a week and a half holiday to Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, etc. 2k+ photos and 12Gig later I've processed my shots.
I did the usual tourist things, including watching sunrise and sunset at Uluru.

Sunrise, with Moon (5 shots) (13 second exposures)

When you put them all together like this they look a bit derivative. Oh well...

i love the colour this rock can produce when the sun is setting

It was interesting the colour didn't change as much as I was expecting.

Hey nice weather. Ayers Rock does have some interesting moods, but you will need to visit several times to increase your chances of seeing them. I think he post-sunset light is best on the rock though as it seems to add a little bit of mystique to it.

I would be good go back with many different weather conditions. I've seen some nice shots with clouds around the top of Uluru. Also after rain, it would be great to capture the many waterfalls that run off the rock.

Number 4 had the curves tweaked to get more of the dynamic range in. It certainly made for a more interesting shot.

Daniel I like the last one here the besr. The others look a little odd, but I can't quite say why #1 in particular uluru looks radioactive :wink: Off to look at your gallery

It always amazes me how many colours Uluru can be... I haven't been there for years and sadly I wasnt into togging so much then so I didnt really get any decent shots of it either but I sure would like to try one day...

I do like the first image with the moon in it.. worth getting up early for I think... :)
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list... ;)

Probably just the effect of having the sun shining on the rock without shining on the ground.

It's an interesting addition, but I find it looks more like the sun than the moon. It was just too bright. It's always annoying when you can photoshop a better shot than it was in real life... :?
