James, whilst they are great shots and show a good use of off-camera flash, can I ask that you refrain from mentioning PocketWizards to assist me in avoiding additional kit-lust??
![]() ![]() Seriously, great shots, although the first is a little compromised by the sunlight. Cheers Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
Great stuff, love the bail in #3. The others must be pretty sweet if these didn't make the cut

two words: HELMET FOOL!
all those safety people are lecturing about the importance of helmets, yet these guys are being featured in a major mag, riding and stunting helmetless! back on track, nice shots mate. composition and lighting is tops. i had a play with off camera flash the other evening, but that was my first attempt haha ive got a lot to learn. dont you feel a bit worried he might stuff something up and err.. land on say, a flash? -j

I know what you mean... Reminds me of a photo I saw in a motorcycle magazine once, some guy on his motorbike on a public street doing a great one handed wheelie while waving to the camera, and he was completely naked

in all seriousness, something about wearing a helmet in a photo ruins the photo - it takes away from it somehow. i know how UN-PC (pol correct) that statement is, but i dont really care. as a rider, i appriciate a photo far more if the guy isnt wearing a helmet. makes it look gnarlier or something. i do wear a helmet whilst riding down the street, i hate fines. body: nikon d200, d70s, f4s, f601.

agreed. if he can do stunts and execute them over and over without a helmet, then he MUST be pro ! there's a higher risk (especially for motorcycle stunts) so it just appeals as it appears they have more skills and/or balls !
i might add that i never encourage a rider to wear or not wear a helmet. its up to them.
