Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

View from a wedding 2nd shooter

Forum member Jay (Hyena) invited me for his wedding as a 2nd shooter for his grand day of life. Yet to be surprised that my name was actually on the guests list! A great thanks to Jay to give me an opportunity to get on this experience, and took the 'risk' of letting me do the whole day of the wedding... :)

Well, I hope you're not disappointed Jay!!

A few of them from the day, I had not much of chance to call for eye contact shots as the main photographer is working there for the posed shot, so I was told to stay behind and grab the candid like shots, from a different perspective.

Yip - Good work son! I'm sure Jay wouldn't be dissapointed.
The first image i'd crop just a bit more from the top.
The 2nd image - well executed and one for the album I'd think! :)
The 3rd image - beautiful! Nice DOF and bokeh - which lens?

Thanks Geoff!

From that one, I'm lusting towards a new setup with the D200 + midrange f/2.8 zoom... I need to extinguish the evil inside me...

I think they're all outstanding, but I'm biased
From the previews I saw on the camera there's a heap more decent images to come :D

I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Yip for his outstanding efforts on the night. I certainly picked the right man for the job and I highly recommend him to anyone else who needs photos on their big day.
It's hard to just stand there and pose when you're used to being behind the camera, and I wanted to several times throughout the day to try a few different shots but obviously I couldn't. Luckily I had more than one skilled photog there!

So again, cheers Yip!
