What a great image, I love the light
I need to get out of the city for a while I'm missing the great outdoors
Exquisite. There is something about the northern hemisphere that is just magical, especially in a semi-alpine environment.

Great shots Dee..great colours throughout...and also 15s exp with boats and the boats are sharp...awesome....
yeah, pretty calm water tonight so little to no boat movement during the exposures.
the remaining light from the sunset gave just enough light on the river to bounce up and expose the boats.
Dee
What can I say - yet another fantastic image from you. And still using a D70 - which proves the old adage about it being the photographer and not their equipment. Peter

just perfect........
Cheers ....bp....
Difference between a good street photographer and a great street photographer.... Removing objects that do not belong... happy for the comments, but .....Please DO NOT edit my image..... http://bigpix.smugmug.com Forever changing
after coming back to look at this again 2 things come to mind
1: the jet trail on the right is distracting, cloning it out may improve the end result 2: the 3 red lights next to the left hand edge are also distracting either cropping or cloning them would be the go both minor points ![]()
keith for the CC
i totally agree about the three red lights, and i was planning to clone 'em out... and actually i just did in my orig version you dont have me convinced about the jet streak though.... talk to me more
-stubbsy u make it sound like the d70 was released in the dark ages... its only a couple years old really LOL thanks for the kind remarks tho ![]()
it's no so much that the jet trail is there as it is the brightness of it and that side of the image maybe set the burn tool to highlights and burn some of the brightness out of it every time I look at the image my focus is pulled over to the right and I find it hard to look at the detail in the rest of the image for more than a few seconds before I'm drawn away again you could use the sponge tool to see what saturation you can get out of the bright part of the sky so color is the reason you are drawn there not brightness then you would be free to move around the image at will as I say this it is still a maybe, you will have to try and see how far out I am ![]()
Ok I couldn't help myself
![]() if you want it taken down just let me know ![]() my very quick edit top and your original at the bottom looking at it now I think I have gone to far with the saturation I would swap out a little saturation for a little more burn to keep the apparent level the same I burnt the jet trail, the sky below it, the bright water around the boats and under the piers etc. to the right and darkened up the building at the end of the jetty the only real saturation boost was to to the light part of the sky above the orange to add color there also I think on my edit the blue between the orange and the jet trail should be a little darker look what you have started, I'll be thinking about the shot for days now ![]() edit: also note that the original you posted is still in adobe RGB and has not been converted to sRGB for web viewing that is why the original of yours that I posted is a little more vibrant (I always convert to sRGB before I upload web photos) Last edited by firsty on Wed Jan 31, 2007 12:07 am, edited 1 time in total.

I'm surprised the water is so still! Makes perfect long exposures though.
