A quick 'studio' silhoutte
Hi all,
I'm getting bored so wanted to try something new. I set up a small 'stuido' in my garage. This shot was taken using one source of light (sb800) with a LSPJ II attached. This is a concept I am working on at the moment. This is more of a test shot. Can anyone recommend any suggestions for improvement? No studio equipment. Just remote sb800 and bed sheet for a background.

Hi alex, we like it.
Great result, and testament to the SB800. I like the highlights on the table. I like the purity of the blacks in the dress, but shading over the skin. Do you have one with her head tilted back a little further, allowing the light around the neck?
its very cool
especially the way hte light reveals more tone on the face and body i'd just clip that dress in with a paperclip so it reveals more of her arched back and get your model/wife to arch her neck back litle more so the hair drops better, think slinky and i'd get her to move her feet so they rest on the support excellent first try!

A good example of creativity with a single small flashgun! Nice work. Wendell has given some good advice on the finer points of modeling.

cool just remember use a 'bulldog clip' not a paperclip or several clips and holywood tape or double sided tape are a fashion stylists best freinds most clothes dont fit models properly anyway and the more challenging the pose the more the dress may move and look odd so don't hesitate to keep the dress under control after all the hard work working out your poses you ned to consider the effect it has on the garment too in post production, you can clone out the clips anyway excellent first try
