Absolutely love these. The light is delicious!
Pity you don't fly in Adelaide - my partner and I are dying to do another balloon flight (went up over a game park in South Africa last year). Do you have any connections down here?! We were thinking of checking out the Barossa Valley flights... Anyway, back on topic - the horses appear to be genuinely interested in your presence, they probably wanted a ride in your flying contraption!!

Where did u launch from/go to? I saw a balloon up this morning over my place at around 7ish in gatton, u by any chance? I almost stopped on my way to work to take a pic
Bettleboy - to the best of my knowledge there is only the one balloon operator in the Barossa - Balloon Academy - the guy that runs it, Justin Stein, is well respected. Where abouts in Sth Africa did you fly?? I mnaged to get 2 flights in there about 8 years ago. 1 from the wharves at Cape Town ( very exciting) and the other was in Pilanesberg NP near Sun City.
Manta - still very much struggling with the AF on the new beast. Land-lubber - I launched out of Graceville and landed at Carina this morning. Wasn't me that you saw at Gatton. Everyone else thanks for the positives, the lighting was just beautiful but I think that a couple of my passengers thought that I was more interested in the horses than I was in them - oops

We flew in the same park in South Africa! Pilanesberg is our favourite game park due it's close proximity to Joburg and it's also pretty much on our way from Joburg to Jwaneng in Botswana where my partner's parent's live! Aside from the game viewing from the balloon, the actual experience of flying so smoothly and quietly was absolutely amazing. We're hopefully going back to Africa at the end of this year (will be my 4th trip in the last 3 years!!) to drive from Joburg North up thru the Okavango Delta, into Namibia then back down via Maun. We're hoping to get another flight in while we're there.
The pilot that took us up in Pilanesberg was a very friendly English born chap who holds a few records for daring flights - down the Kimberley hole was one and I think the other was flying solo into the basin of Victoria Falls! Was nice to know we were in skilled hands! I think his name was Tony C(something! Can't read his signature on the flight certificate!!).

My son and his girlfriend were on the phone tonight telling me about their balloon flight on Saturday morning. It was a birthday present from his girlfriend. They happened to mention about horses in the paddock where they landed. I remembered your recent post and asked if he could remember the balloon operater's name. He said Steve Griffin -small world. By the way they thoroughly enjoyed it. Must do it myself sometime Once again great pics. Regards Bob G Bob
