I don't think that it's too much of an issue here. Have you considered a contrasty monochrome conversion for the image? The was the first thing that came to mind, I've had quick go at it ![]() I don't normally edit other people's images, but I didn't know how best to describe it - lemme know and I'll take it down right away if you want.
hi daveb
great shots... love n1, i think some photoshop work will be much better. i agree with daniel_r a b/w version will be great i think his version is a bit much. sorry. i think the blacks are a bit too saturated. thanks for sharing christian check my website>> http://www.6701.sunpixs.com
another series of animal shots outside the frame.
good viewpoints here. deifinitely out of the ordinary. Steve check out my image gallery @

Dave some interesting takes on zoo animals. I like the last , the expression the which would have been enhanced had the ape been looking at the camera. I also like the design feature on the feather in amongst the rocks but like others I agree with Dave, a high contrast B&W really makes it stand out. I also think as a general piece of advice a few seem to lack a little pop and seem a little flat, perhaps some tweaking with the curves may help bring the images to life.
cheers marco
I was hanging out to see that feather one Dave, I saw it during a slight chimp session and knew it'd look good in the end.
I'll go ahead and say Dave is probably color calibrated? But I agree with the others, shots want a touch more OOMPH. And Mark, if you are watching please post Dave's new avatar! -Lachie D70 :: 18-70 :: 50/1.8 :: 70-200/2.8 :: SB 600
Thanks for the refreshing comments folks!
Yes my environment is calibrated. I will rework these images a bit: these first versions are almost untouched after output from DPP. I forgot to mention, they were all taken with a 30D with 100-400mm IS lens.
Quite sure! The photo of his groin wasn't very pretty, but definitely distinct from this one. ![]()
Mark sent it to me last night.
