The Specks

I met up with Oneputt, Mitedo and and met Wendell for the first time on Saturday out near the Noosa Bar. Was only able to stay a short while but still had a bit of fun . All three had their wide angle lenses on so, just to be different, I had a play with the Sigma 180 with a cheap Tamron 2x. All manual, focus exposure aperture etc.

In Wendell's 9th and 10th shots in his first Noosa series you can see some specks out in the water.

Here are the specks :D

The last image of Wendell is a corker Mark. Lovely exposure and composition. I think #2 is also eye catching and 2 lovely 'specs'. I also like the lovely smooth transition of the blue tones in the background of #3 and the way the spray/wake of the craft catches the light.
cheers

Mark - I particularly like the 2nd image of the 'specs'. I think you'd find it difficult to look at this image and not smile. The girls look like they're having the time of their lives. Sunshine, water and fun fun fun! The shot of Wendell is brilliant - a great capture! Well done matey!

Mark,

I agree with Geoff in that the girls seem like they are having a ball. Shot of Wendell is great, too and he should use this pic as part of his cv.

Sounds like you guys had a productive shoot and enjoyed the get-together.

Cheers

Nice shots Mark. You have to teach me how to get such nice sharp images.

Craig, it wasn't that easy to be honest. I binned a lot more than I kept. I was a having a bit of trouble with the focus and was probably more good luck than good management that I got a couple of decent shots. With the light behind it made it difficut to see the subject clearly and everything was manual i.e. focus, shutter, aperture no TTL at all. It was basically guess the aperture and have a look at the shot and adjust if neccessary. I have since found out how to adjust the diopter on the viewfinder which has made a BIG difference.

If you don't know try this.

Simply remove the lens and then adjust the slider until the marks on the mirror are crystal clear. Works a treat :D

A proper Sigma 2x to mate to the Sigma 180 is definately on the cards. TTL is nice

Mark, thanks. I have had a play with the diopter adjustment in the past and could not see any difference, but I was brand new to the camera then.

I will try again in the next couple of days since the camera and I are now more intimate friends.
