Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Picture taken at the Brisbane Int'l Motorshow! First outing with my new cam.

Comments+Crit would be great.

Still getting the hang of all these extra flashy features coming from a manual film SLR :(

Nice lighting, was it available lighting, or a flash? Background seems very balanced compared to subject, so I'm guessing available lighting?

I probably might have framed it a bit differently (moving those blasted people standing behind it!!), but I suppose it is not easy at a motorshow with crowds milling about

Is that your dream car? What metering did you use, spot, cwt, etc or was it flash?

People getting in the way can be a problem at such events. Was going to go myself on Sat night but too stuffed after a 16 hour work day. Will try to get there later on this week and take some shots of the bikes.

Thanks guys!

No flash used, can't remember what the meter setting is called but AFAIK it was the one that meters evenly across the whole frame.

BMW M6 or 7 series is my dream car, yes! :D That or a Vanquish/DB9 ;)

Just a minute while I wipe the drool off my chin and keyboard, hubba hubba, a new M6, yummo..... The M5 would be an amazing machine point-to-point, the M drive line technology is incredible but the 645 just oozes fast class...

Only suggestion is to watch your background when framing as you may be able to get a more "conducive" angle, like getting in closer (or zoom) and framing to maybe put something you specifically want in the background, like the marque's sign, or a range of mags, or maybe even zoom in really tight and focus on the detail in a headlamp or wheel etc...

This is coming from someone who's never taken a shot of a car in his life mind you :lol:
