Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. Hi there,

Was just going through some older unprocessed insect images. I kinda like this one as it's sort of symetrical. I also like the way the colour work... what do you guys think?

I really like the symmetry of the composition and the simplicity of the colours.

I really like this shot Paul - would have preferred just a little more space under the wings, but other than that - beautiful :)

I think it is in the family Pythidae (in the group Pilipalpinae) .... but I'm not a beetle dudette :) Looks like a thing called Morpholycus costipennis,,,, but don't take my word for it :)

It's sharp in a few places.... the DOF is just too shallow that's all. I seem to be good at that with my macro's. I always am worried about loosing sharpness due to diffraction and end up loosing it due to lack of DOF... It takes some people a long time to learn :)

I agree. I think it needs a bit more room. Otherwise great. :)

I agree Rel, just a little more space under the wings would have helped make this one terrific.
