Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

That's a great shot Paul... Compositionally, it may have looked better with a little more sky in the shot, but I understand what you were aiming for...

Is that a mine in the foreground??? Someone should warn the council...

You've captured a nice eerie mood to the scene. Is that an old WWII sea-mine washed up on shore?

Paul, I love it, simply love it. It has this real fluid feel to it, like it could change at anytime. Gorgeous, and a bit different to your usual beach scapes.

Paul,
Is it getting up early that puts you in that sort of mood? Anyway, I like it.

Amazing shot mate. Stragnely creepy but inviting (other than the mine, that is) :D

Killakoala-thanks killa, I kicked it and nothing happened  so must not be :D

Nikon boy-appreciate that, I was concerned it was getting light too quickly

Alpha_7-thanks! A bit different but I just can't let go of the seascapes, oh well, I love them and the everchanging moods

glamy-maybe so, meet there next weekend just before sunrise and we'll see how it affects you

wendellt-Thanks wendell, appreciate the feedback

Willigan-Thanks :!: Interesting a couple comments of "eery" and "creepy" but as long as it pleases those who view the images I'm happy

For Leek - here is the sister image in a different perspective

A very powerful and surreal image Paul. Terrific composition and exposure. You have deftly broken the silence of that vast empty space in the foreground by including that rather unusual band of reflection. I definitely like the landscape version best.
cheers

Masterful! Alien landscape right here on Earth. That is fine art. I think a figure standing in the corner of the pool....with blue swimmers...would have been the icing on the cake. Maybe a young female with long blonde hair. It would add a surreal element.

Must admit I prefer the original - it loses the surreal look with the sky.
