As part of the Lunar New Year celebrations, watched a performance put on by a Taiwan acrobat, song and dance troupe. Managed to grab a few shots - all taken without flash - of course being chinese new year, the spotlights they used were very red tried to correct the wb a little.

Some lovely shots, great colour and presence. #2 is my favourite, followed by #1 but they all great.
#4 Pity you didn't have a little more space above the top acrobat!

Thanks Craig,
For #4, yeah, I was using the 70-200 as I was nearer the back, but at 70mm, only just had enough room to fit them all in.

Beautifully captured gooseberry. Vivid colour and careful focussing. I particularly like #1 that would have been enhanced even further with the includsion of the male artisits hand in the frame to complete a great composition.
cheers

Thanks marco,
yeah, would have liked to have not cut off the hand, need to work on being quicker and anticipating more, quite a challenge photographing dancers.

Gooseberry,
This are great and IMO even stronger then the last set!
Great colour, and a sense of the dramatic in all these shots!

A brilliant set of images that capture the colour and theatre of the event exceptionally well. Shows the wonders of the lens too.

Amazing work, the last one is so dynamic and beautiful. Your work is also very very sharp and clean cut, what lenses are you using?

The color and definition/clarity in these shots is great, particularly in the second set... The balance and flexibility of the performers is amazing... Looks like you've done a good job on the WB too when you consider the lighting you would have had to contend with...
What sort of ISO were you using (couldn't get EXIF)?
Aka Andrew

Thanks wendellt. Yeah, I quite like the last one as well. As Craig mentioned I'm using the 70-200 VR.

Thanks Andrew, yeah the WB was tricky - they had red, yellow and purple spotlights
For those interested in the settings..
normal tone, normal saturation, colour mode I, no in camera sharpening, ISO 400, auto WB. All that was done in post process was to fine tune the WB a bit, and do a slight USM and resize.
