Don't we all love fog :D I took this last winter as a fog descended on the harbour. I was just in time as it started to lift as I raced around towards the Opera House.

Image

I have sold a fair few A3 prints of this snap.

Cheers

Sheila,

If you don't mind me asking, what mechanisms do you use for selling your prints?

Nice "snap" BTW...

Nice work Shelia, this shot has great presences and atmosphere so no wonder you've had some some sales of this print.

Terrific B&W image - well framed by the trees, with the briskly walking figure and the iconic structure in the background. :D

Sorry about "snap" - its a habit I have gotten into. I guess its sort of self deprecatory :D I sell a few snaps, sorry, prints from my Pbase site. Also a lot of work colleagues have bought my work and as soon as the staff partner gets his finger out and comes up with a budget, the law firm for whom I work is to hang some of my prints in the conference room area. Hopefully some clients will like what they see.

Regarding the PP, I use Fred Miranda's black and white plug ins. Actually the original coloured version is rather nice - all pinks and light blues as the fog was just about lifting.

For those of you who are APS members (Australian Photographic Society), look out for my work in Image magazine next month. This has all come about because of the Black and White Spider Awards.

Cheers

Sheila,

I grew up in Sydney and that has to be one of the most beautiful shots of the Sydney Harbour Bridge I have ever seen. I sat on that same seat last winter, with my wife, reminiscing the good times spent in Sydney (am now in Brisbane). You may have even been taking this pic at that time.....

One of your best posts (and that is very high praise, considering your posts so far) and I can imagine how it would look as an enlargement. Stunning, no doubt.

Cheers

Anybody can become a member of APS. With your subscription, you get Image which Sheila refers to above and also Australian Photography.

Could spend a lot of time typing, but the web site will have all the info:

Two different images. I took the second one and then waited for someone to walk up the steps. I didn't have to wait long!

Hehehe, makes perfect sense Shelia. Funny that in these days of digital my first thought was manipulation after the fact (see the recent cloning thread) rather then actually 'manipulation' at the point of taking the shots.

Thanks for clearing that up!

I do like both the b & w and colour versions but the b & w (with the guy walking past) works better for me.

Thanks for posting both

Sheila,

Excellent Image, what I find interesting is that the sunlight on the pavement in the B&W makes it look like a wet day.

For me the colour version. We live in a world of colour and when it can be captured with such subtle beauty as in this shot it is worth showing :)
