good first effort, looks good. What did you use lens wise and settings? I've got it on my list of things to try out as well after seeing the results of Big V The second one would be the one I prefer, easily make out Orion. Probably needs to be even darker skies to make out more of it. #1 18mm, f3.5, 20 sec, ISO 1600 #2 40mm, f4.5, 20 sec, ISO 1600 (not sure about the ISO, the exif seems a bit odd).
