Nice and easy (and quick) to read. Was thinking about a 1.7TC the other day. So many things, so little cash.

Birdy my findings too
although i did shoot with the 1.7x frequently at f5 and thought the images were soft
I still prefer the 70-200 without the TC as i still get f2.8

Hmmm. How did you find the AF on the D2x. With the increased focal length you would still get nice bokeh, even at higher apertures? HB

yeah shot at f4 to get the nice differential focus, but soon foun dout f4 with that TC produces soft images, I wil lstrive to use f8 whenever i use the TC
with the lens, autofocus is still fast
