I love these little guys. This one's only about a centimetre long, brought to life by BlacknStormy's 105mm Micro lens.

Forgotten FroggyHere's a shot I took ages ago while frogging with BlacknStormy and Damian (who kept his clothes on the whole time, I might add).

Simon - fantastically sharp image - the small thumbnail you've posted just doesn't do justice to this.

Hi K - thanks for the comments. No real trick in not blowing the highlights - just keep the meter running and use a Lightsphere to diffuse the flash. The old plastic beer cup comes in very handy with these shiny surfaces. I don't think Narelle ever takes a flash shot without it! ![]() Simon

Excellent capture Manta.
Nice and simple. A vertical (portrait) crop might add to the composition a bit, perhaps - make it a bit stronger. But as is, a great shot. Where do you guys go frogging? Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/
Great shot Simon.

Hey thanks big guy. I'll try the vertical but I specifically wanted some room on the side for this one so that's why I stayed with the original composition. You'll have to come with us sometime - this one was taken at the Wellington Point Constructed Wetlands after we'd had a pretty poor night at Cleveland's Black Swamp. Simon

That is true - it might look a bit odd framing too close to where the frog is 'looking'.
Would love to! Pop it in the QLD section next time you guys are off ![]() Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes. http://www.dionm.net/
Don't know about advertising it too far and wide - these trips are usually as part of the guys' studies or work and too many people along could spoil the result. Plus, swamps at night are not everyone's cup of tea.... Simon
