 has anybody converted D2X NEF file to JPG with Nikon Capture 4.4 yet?
 I'm getting some really funny result on both my PC's so much so that I had to uninstall Capture on both machine and reload Capture back up to 4.3.2.

   capture 4.3.2
   forget how dull the first one looks, it's just the way the colour graduates.

 Ok,
 I have discovered the answer to my problems.
 After loading Capture 4.4 when I go "save as" JPG the compression was defaulted as blank so it probably compress the JPG image to the maximum level.
 After changeing this setting every thig is back to being rosy again

 Glad you discovered and solved that issue quickly Andrew. It's been reported at that other forum, oversensationalised as the "giant software bug with 4.4" OMG run for teh hills, the sky is falling!!!!1ONE

 What worries me more than the ex-treme posterisation are those bright blue blotches in the sky. Where do those come from?

 Oh well I'll learn from my oversite for this problem.
 It's funny that every time I upgrade Nikon Capture, a setting always manages to change itself
