Looks like your having a lot of fun,
![]() #1 As it was loading I thought damn the lavendar is OOF, but then came the bee, nice job, we all know they rarely sit still just to be photographed. #2 Is nice, nice smooth bokeh, not sure if its CA or blur or what's going on with the back of the wings of the butterfly.. #3 I didn't like so much.. the wings seem seem too soft to make this a great shot
cheers for the kind comments guys. heres one more of the flutterby, just coz.

I agree with the other comments. That first one is a cracker NJ.
After spending half the weekend chasing these dudes around, I know just how difficult they are to photograph. Did you use manual focus or AF? Cheers, John D3, D300, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 85/1.4, 80-400VR, 18-200VR, 105/2.8 VR macro, Sigma 150/2.8 macro

thanks john and marco for the nice comments. very appreciated. yeh, john, i manualy focused...just set the focus to infinity (to give me maybe a cm more reach lol) and physically moved back and forth until things became in focus. i must have taken easily over 100 shots to finally get one like this

How did people did this sort of thing before digital (and I'm sure they did)? Must have cost a fortune in film. D3, D300, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 85/1.4, 80-400VR, 18-200VR, 105/2.8 VR macro, Sigma 150/2.8 macro
