Flowers, a cat and a bee.A few shots here taken with my 50mm 1.8 lens. Man this lens is sharp!
![]() ![]() ![]() Comments welcome. Kind regards, Owen.
It's a great lens for the price. Good to have the flexibility of going as wide as 1.8 too, which is what the pic of the cat was taken at.
Impressive pics Owen. #2 is a real standout. The tonal gradation is superb, the focus sharp and the colours natural and not oversaturated. While the bee shot is impressive for the detail on the bee it doesn't work overall for me. The cat pic is also spot on with great DOF and really engaging eye contact.

For the price, you'd be mad not to have this lens.
Great images Owen. Although not a cat-person, i do think that cat image is beautiful. The flowers are so colourful and just stand out from the background. Well done. Steve.

Thanks Stubbsy and killa. How could you not love a cat that looks like that?
![]() I just went out to take the second pic at a smaller aperture, but the breeze is blowing the flowers around unfortunately. I'd like to get the yellow bit on the white flower in focus better. That was taken at f/11 though, I thought it would get it all in.
Fabulous images Owen, I think I have just found my Christmas present.
