as in Praying Mantis
Birddog - I could kiss you for this lens!!! I love the 105!!!!!!!!
Took this yesterday afternoon in the backyard. slight crop and levels, framing and added new 'signature'. Everyone probably knows how to do it, but I've saved my signature as a brush in PS, and you just wack on a new layer, use the brush tool, and wham, your signature is inserted Did that make sense? If anyone wants to know how to do it, let me know, and I'll post 'how to' notes

The wonders of macro, allows people such as myself to appreciate things i normally try to swat away with a feather duster. The expression is priceless looks to me like personality does indeed exist in the micro world. I should take some time to look closer and see what else there is to be found on this blue ball of majestic beauty.
Great shallow depth of field and composition!

Excellent photo. Congrats on the new lens! I'd love to see a larger crop of the head. The detail is superb.

Thank you all so much !!!! I'm glad you liked it - I'll have you all converted into loving insects soon
I was going to do a post of 'how to do a brush signature', but figured I'd post the thread that I originally learnt from :
http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/brush/cbrush7.htm
It is very easy to follow, but if you have any trouble, let me know and I'll flesh it out for you.

You've done it again Narelle - a beautifully captured and perfectly composed macro. You keep offering to lend me your 105mm and I keep knocking you back - truth is, I could never do it justice like you do.
In a portfolio that is full of impressive images it's nearly impossible to pick a favourite but this one is a real stand-out for me.
Keep raising that bar, girl.

Narelle,
Great works, I salute, admire your skill & techniques!
It's the lens for macro and it works for you well I don't think other filters or reversed rings can bring much of succesful in macro photography as the macro lenses.
The Nikkor 200mm is another glass in the real life of macro also.

Manta, Birddog, Drifter & Mic - thank you.
Manta - we are going to have words shortly - they are really not that good, they are ok, but not brilliant, and if you'd just have a go with the lens, you'd probably kick my big fat ass !!! LOL
Birddog - I always feel honoured when you comment on my photos - thank you !!!! And yes, I'll keep the 200 in mind (my other half just rolled his eyes at me though)
Mic - just for you, the inverted twin brother of Errol

Blacknstormy,
As I have intimated in the past your work is one of the very few attractions that makes looking in worhtwhile and this is yet another exemplary shot. But can I say that in my view of the world the frame does nothing at all for the calibre of your work?
Keep up the good work,
