Not that it's much, and I certainly didn't get paid for it, but the local paper, 'The Western Advocate' ran a photo of mine yesterday.
I'm pretty happy about it. I was also informed the local PCYC want to use some of my pics on their website. I've told them it's okay and gave them the images for free.
 Feeling a little chuffed.
For the record, its this pic they published, slightly cropped.

Good stuff Raskill Hope it definitely leads on to bigger and better things. I must admit, when I first saw this shot it didn't appeal to me as much. I would have preferred to see the player's expression as he went up for the spike, however I guess we have to make the most out of our situations Congrats again.

I think the same about the image. the player who it is likes it because he knows who he is. I had another comp that I concentrated on getting the faces of servers (in shocking light, god bless noise ninja ) and I was much happier with them. Got about 40 shots of the two teams, most with good concentration etched on their faces.
On another note, why can't I fit my 50mm 1.8 onto a 2x TC, that would give me a nice focal length and plenty of light. Stupid TC. 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc http://www.awbphotos.com.au

Should ask whether they'd be interested in contracting you to cover such events As people have said, it'll be a nice way to justify your lust Have a look at the 85mm 1.8 if you're not getting enough reach...or even the 70-200 2.8 (Nikkor or Sigma, hardly any diff in the right hands IMHO).

 Alpha, thanks mate.
Piro, already got the sigma 70 - 200mm 2.8. The problem is the lighting is so utterly crap in most venues that even wide open it will only manage shutter speeds in the area of 150 - 200. I'd much rather it be up near the 1000. But I guess with the sunnier weather coming, the ambient light levels will increase.

I wouldn't mind a lens in the area of the 85mm 1.8. Nikon or Sigma glass, I don't care. If anyone has an opinion I'd be interested to hear it.
