D 70......has died......working one day, 4-5 days later, then not working at all. Took the camera out of its cover to find the green light flashing and no information on the top or back screens, changed the battery and CF Card, still nothing, left the battery out for a few hours and placed a fresh charged battery in and still the green flashing light. The camera has not had any drops or heavy nocks at all, also looking through the view finder the lens will not focus using manual or auto and the view screen looking through the view is greyed with a clearer band top and bottom with a lot of what one would describe as a grain effect, the day the camera was used all was fine, now this, I am glad I brought along my Nikon 4500 digital happy snap, so all is not at a loss. Any help would be good.......

            Cheers ....bp....

Sorry to hear the bad news, nothing you can do with it until you get back to Australia, and I hope it's still under warranty with Maxwell. BTW, it may not like London as you love it

Sorry to hear about this big pix. The more I hear about the blinking green light of death the more concerned I get about my camera. (the olympus I own also had a "known" problem with the mode dial going south and sure enough, mine did)

I have heard many stories of Nikon fixing the camera even though it was past the warranty period when this problem showed.......so hopefully if yours is out of warranty Maxwell will do the right thing here. Deb "Sometimes when you are sad Poko, it's good to hug the monkey."

.......the bad news for me is that the camera is just over 18 months old and only about 3500 pix's......

            Cheers ....bp....

Maxwell seem to be willing to honour the BGLOD issue, but I'm wanting to keep a register of those who have been afflicted by this problem so that we have a bank of evidence to help prove that it's a known issue.
