Got a D3s from ECS this morning. I am not impressed by the feel of the multiselector button . It feel cheap, flimsy and is inconsistent in its response . But that is how 1600 iso looks like straight out of the camera: This is a 100% crop, focus on JVC. Cheers, Gerard

Congrats on the new acquisition. Isn't it a solid beastie? glamy wrote:I am not impressed by the feel of the multiselector button . It feel cheap, flimsy and is inconsistent in its response
I too find the multi-selector little difficult to engage with as well. Inconsistent is probably the correct word to use; it sometimes doesn't quite want to shift focus points, I'm finding.

I find the same, more so in the menu. It is solid OK, but no more than the D2X. I do appreciate the Liveview to focus with the 24PC. Beautiful . Best is the high Iso ability

Congrats on the new purchase! I am sure you will love the D3s.
On the topic of the multiselector, I have never liked the D700's (too much travel and sticks out too much) is the D3s similarly equipped?

Cameron, Sounds like it.It does stick out a lot more than on the D2X, it also travels a lot more and while the D2X makes no noise, there is a hollow sound coming from the D3's.

If that's a picture of your new D3s, I'd say you've got a problem.
