Hi all,
Has anybody that has a R1800 Epson Printer ever worked out how much it costs to produce a A4 Print taking in Ink & paper costs. I buy a pack of Pearl Ilford at $99 so I know thats about $1 per sheet
How many A4 can one expect to get to a full set of ink tanks, it's just that I seem to run out of these little buggers fairly often and I don't print that much.
Why didn't they make bigger tanks or keep the smaller ones but at a better price, I purchased some from Harvey Norman at $16 a tank. Is this good or can I get better.

I have bought a full set of ink (8 cartridges) for R800 from ebay for about $110 and just recently from birddog for about $105

Yep - I highly doubt you will find cartridges cheaper than what our Birdy can get them for, plus the service is outstanding

And don't overlook the value - intangible - of the convenience factor of being able to print up to an A3+ sized print in the comfort of your very own home.
Contrast that with the convenience of at least two visits to your very favourite lab, and the parking and traffic hassles that that involves, or the inconvenience of waiting for the prints to arrive via your favourite mail carrier. g.

Mic ..... time to upgrade to Epson 4800......... use roll stock and 220ml ink cartridges......... then you will save money.......... or sheet stock through this set-up will also save you lots of money......... down side, big up front cost........ up side, the 220ml cartage's last a very long time....... and cost per print is very low.......

But the upfront investment is a big $$$$$$
How many hobby photographer can afford it? and for one or two prints/ week? Birddog114
