...Yesterday morning im getting ready to go to my first class at focal point, and i get a phone call from Toronto telling me that i won a photo contest that i entered. I enter contests all the time, and i have won a few, but no more than 100 bucks, or online bragging rights. But this one was P a y D a y. Nikon/Roger's/Chatelaine magazine had a photo contest entitled "Spring Celebrations", so i sent it some of my stuff from last spring's tulip festival in Washington State. Anyways, I was chosen as the winner!
the winning image:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/deesignpho ... et-305304/
Here is what i won:
FIRST PLACE: One (1) Nikon D70s digital SLR camera, with DX lens, SB800 Speedlight and Nikon camera bag, having a total retail value of $2,200.
and it doesnt stop there!
my photo will be published in Chatelaine magazine!
Also, the 2nd place, 3rd place, and two runner's up along with the winners of the previous two contests ("Haloween Harvest" and "December Holdiays") are going to be posted online for voting on who will win the Grand Prize:
The owner of the photograph receiving the highest number of votes during the Online Voting Period Contest will win the Grand Prize, having an approximate retail value of $9,000, and consisting of a "picture-perfect" vacation for a family of four (4) [consisting of a maximum of two adults with two children, where the children are 18 years of age or younger] to
Delta Sun Peaks Resort, British Columbia . Trip consists of return airfare to Vancouver from the international airport closest to the winner’s residence, and six days/five nights accommodations (quad occupancy), complimentary fitness centre, heated outdoor swimming pool and a children's creative center. Winner will also receive a cheque for $1,000 spending money.

Dee looks like Birddog is not too impressed with the 18-200's performance. He suggests waiting for the 70-300 F/2.8 VR 11. If you've got a bucket load of money spare
