POTW 5-Jul-2017

Each week, one of the moderators or administrators selects an image that, for whatever reason, catches their eye. Please feel free to add your comments here. Vigorous discussion of the images and techniques is welcome and encouraged. Criticism of any mod for their choice is not. Please note that this is "Picture of the Week"; do not confuse that with "best picture of the week", which is a concept of which we have no understanding.

POTW 5-Jul-2017

This weeks winner is an unusual composition that just works wonderfully. Congratulations TonyT....I really enjoyed this image because of the symetry of the frames that hold the eye and then the pulling power of the smiling girl. All of the energy in this image is contained in those few pixels that form her sparkling eyes and delightful smile....without these elements the image would be empty and uninteresting.
Great work and perfect timing!

Couldn't agree more.

Plus, just the location is so unusual too.

Superb photo and I agree entirely with Matt's reasons for his choice.
