Hi All.

By the looks of it, 99% of the people here are from the opposite side of the world to me. I hope you don't mind me sticking my face in.
As a small intro:
I'm Rob. A brit, living in Belgium. Had a D70 for just over a year and lovin' it. Panoramas are my main thing, and here's one I made locally. A sad ruin from the 1700's

Of course, the advantage of making panos, even of something this simple.. I can print them nice and BIG. I have this photo hanging in my office printed at a metre wide.

CC, I shot this buy hand, 4 images in portrait with about 20% overlap on each image. To stitch the images together I use Panotools and PTgui.
It takes a bit of time and experience, but the method is reasonably straight forward.

As for the B/W, I used Photolab CSI monochrome filter in CorelPaint. There I can tweak hue, saturation and exposure. Together they offer a good amount of control over the "feel". Plain desaturated Black and white was just too cold for this image so I warmed it a tad with the browns.

Finally, I added a new layer and airbrushed around the edges of the image to give that spooky feel. The layer's opacity can then be adjusted to enhance the feel. The vignette effect also draws the eye to the centre of the shot.

Do you use CorelPaint for all your PP'ing?

I haven't used that since v6, never understood why it didn't catch on.

I've a heap more that I need to upload too.

CC, I use Corel V8 for about 90% of all my editing. It's been a solid workhorse and doesn't lack much that even the latest PS versions have.
I also use Elements 2 and PS5LE, mostly to check compatibility of Corel's in/output of .PSD files.
I'll have to upgrade one day, I know. It'll probably be CS2 as industry is biased that way.
