Long Reef SunriseWe went this morning to Long Reef to shoot sunrise. Didn't really catch it because of the clouds but they created some dark and dramatic mood

You do not always need a good sky to get a fantasic shot........great capture......
cheers bp Cheers ....bp.... Difference between a good street photographer and a great street photographer.... Removing objects that do not belong... happy for the comments, but .....Please DO NOT edit my image..... http://bigpix.smugmug.com Forever changing
Nice shot - a very dramatic mood. I agree with Kipper - cropping most of the forground sand might improve it - it would give even more emphasis to the sky.

I like - was fast asleep when this was taken so it is really nice to know what a dawn looks like Chris -------------------------------- I started my life with nothing and I’ve still got most of it left

I like both images ........ but I am leaning to the pano crop as I think it is a bit more dramatic....... still a great pix

Don't mind at all Your made my shot much better! Mikhail Hasselblad 501CM, XPAN, Wista DX 4x5, Pentax 67, Nikon D70, FED-2
Bugger sunrise, you've captured a ripper there!
I personally prefer the original, has a better feeling of space..but I also don't mind the pano. Now how do I get a cup of tea to balance on this fence I'm sitting on?!! Liam =]
 Mikhail
You've just demonstrated exceedingly well how you can get great shots even when they're NOT what you planned for. Darryl You've just demonstrated the utility of postprocessing. While I like both variations, I must say the rework by Darryl is just ahead by a nose. Peter Disclaimer: I know nothing about anything. *** smugmug galleries: http://www.stubbsy.smugmug.com ***

Hi Kipper, I sent you a PM but got no reply at all Mikhail Hasselblad 501CM, XPAN, Wista DX 4x5, Pentax 67, Nikon D70, FED-2
The pano crop that Kipper has done makes the photo more dramatic but I am not sure that I like the halation on the horizon Chris -------------------------------- I started my life with nothing and I’ve still got most of it left
Not much I could do with that Chris seeing as I wasn't working with the original. Also taking a JPEG and resaving to a JPEG = bad.
Hlop, sorry dude. Monday was my birthday so I was kind of busy, and lastnight I was busy too. I'll give you a hand tonight. Darryl (aka Kipper) Nikon D200

Aw, sorry for my impatience. I just noticed that PM announcements aren't working properly with new hosting and thought that maybe you didn't notice PM P.S. Happy Birthday Chris, I'll take in account Kipper's method but will go my way anyway Mikhail Hasselblad 501CM, XPAN, Wista DX 4x5, Pentax 67, Nikon D70, FED-2
