An aboriginal legend tells that there were once three sisters living in the Jamison Valley. They fell in love with three men from a neighbouring tribe, but marriage was forbidden by tribal law outside the tribes. The men were not happy with this law so they decide to capture the three sisters, and a big battle between the two tribes started. A tribe elder turned the sisters into stone to protect them, but unfortunately he was killed in the fight and nobody could restore the sisters’ human form after. You can find this unusual rock formation in the Blue Mountains near Katoomba.
