Playing with Flash on flower macros

a couple of experiments in flash positioning and exposures. what do you think ?

This is something akin to taking a butt/arse shot. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Nice lighting, the exposures look spot on with nice golden hues.

The subtlety of the colours under the petals is stunning

sb800 fired at +2 from top to try and wash out the colour of the flower. it's actually quite a stark pink colour but i wanted the green to be bright and the petals to be as pastelly light as possible.

sb600 with lightbox fired from behind at +3 to try and highlight the little hairs on the petal.

holding a white reflector, (styrofoam), in my mouth :lol: to bounce back the light onto the green base.

f7.1, 1/125s, iso 200. spot meter on green base.

why did i go to so much trouble ? buggered if i know. just trying shit out. :D
