i was able to move to within 15 feet of this bird......it was eating the winter grass seed.
they are such a pretty bird

Very nice shots! Like the sharpness of the first where the face is the focus. It's kind of a pity the tail of the second is/was cropped because the whole bird is in profile (easier said than done, of course. The birds in our area don't even let you drive near them when they're feeding!)

Pa, they are beautiful birds. They are very nice shots but for me, they would have been better either with the tail or more of a portrait crop.
