Well today was the first day of the event. A number of designers showcased their garments in the first show called "Hot in the City". Just a few samples from the show are below. Any C&C is appreciated

Nice dof on the first one. I take it you managed to sneak into the 630 show? Was wondering where you were :P

830 is better and easier to get the prime spot ;)

The first one is great and looks like you even have eye contact too.

The first one is my pic Alex, very nice.

THe timing on the third I really like, the step position of both is good, flattering rear shot too.

I have never been to one of these events, but the beige nude under pants spoil the whole look. What are the designers/stylists thinking???

The images are great... especially in what I would imagine to be nightmare light for shooting...

but no way would I wear that stuff....

Bindii - the lighting in these shows are usually top notch as they have huge budgets. The lighting last night wasn't incredibly even down the entire runway as there were a few bright and dim spots.

Thanks for the comments, all.

Bindii - the lighting at this particular show was pretty good although you need to be aware of the intensity variation at different stages of runway but that is easy with just adjusting your exposure as a model moves down runway. Generally, the exposure is never uniform throughout runway whatever the show one shoots, but that's half the fun :-) WB can be a bigger problem if mixed lighting is used but this show was pretty good.

Bruce: This particular festival is not exactly "high-fashion". Motorola is mostly consumer brands, but it's fun anyway.

Wayne: Sorry for not turning up to 8.30. I thought I'd sneak in for the earlier show as it suits me better with not having to hang around for several hours after work. The 6.30 had a decent crowd but I was lucky to get a prime channel 9 spot which wasn't used last night.

Thanks

Alex
