Warren,
I really like the first one. It is a stand out. The second and third lose a bit because of the foreground foliage obscuring part of the bird. The fourth is a bit blown by the sunlight. The last is not as sharp as the first.
The bird(s) is/are New Holland honeyeater(s), Phylidonyris novaehollandiae. Wattlebirds have wattles on each cheek.

Warren,
I like those, my favourites are #2 and #3. I'm not a big fan of textbook illustration poses, but rather see the birds going about what they're normally doing, and eating. I agree that the last one isn't quite as snappy as the rest.
Cheers
Steffen.

i like the first and thrid, woiuld really like the first if there was a little more saturation, but I guess the sun really hits those highlights a little out,
I think the bird may be a new holland honey eater?
Good opportune shots, before long you'll be identifying birds just from their calls!

They're a really nice series. The first is a nice pose and sharp. The second maybe needs some contrast or more saturation. The third I really like, despite part of the bird being obscured it's a really nice pose. The colour in the fourth is brilliant, and I also like the way it's perched, though it suffers from looking a bit 'artifcial'. Fifth is okay - it's just a little more plain and the placement of the branch/limb in the background is a bit unfortunate.
Good stuff!
