A few more snowsports shots. The snowboarders are doing the half pipe at Perisher. The skier is racing in the Balmain Cup comp at Guthega.

Super sharp, with lots of *pop* and action, nicely done.

The first is probably my favourite (are they all full frame ?)

As already said - these are superb action shots. More importantly they are very well exposed - well lit subject without blowing the white of the snow.

Thanks all for the comments. :)

Do you mean "are they cropped?" or "what was the sensor size?". They were all shot on D70 with 70 - 200 VR 2.8. All cropped a tad (well the skier is cropped a couple of tads) apart from the third shot which is uncropped. Heap of fun taking the shots. As the snow season comps draw to a close I'll have to find some other sport to practise on. I usually do the horses but could be a while before competitions get started again with the horse flu and all

Hi Simon - I think what these show most of all is the huge difference an uncluttered background can make with action shots!

The 1st, 3rd and 4th shots here are great, with the pick of them (for me) being the 3rd.
The 2nd, although as well exposed, timed and frozen (pun intended) in time as the others, lacks the power of the others due to the background - it just doesn't pop out at you.

That said, these images are all good, and you'd have to be happy.

I can't get used to seeing trees in the snow fields though ;)
