Well I finally had the time to pp and upload my latest portraits.

Kept it simple this time with simple poses and try to learn from previous mistakes.

However I decided try and push my PPin'g a little further and made subtle changes. Not (hopefully) over the top but enough to try and improve the lighting, skin tones and overall presentation of the image.





Last but not least, my favourite shot of all! I really fell in love with this photo. Its such a beautiful image (to me). I just love how the light fell on her. That peaceful expression and simple pose. To me, its what I love about portait shoot. Not the glam look but photos like these. Didn't do much PPing on this. Only sharpened and converted to monotone.

share with you my second thought, would like to have seen a little seperation between the floor covering and her face, perhaps just her hand under her head would have done it.

#1 is Wow, #2 is almost as good, the other two aren't at the same level for me.

Beautiful shots - I love the intimacy in #1
I am seeing a little big pore orange peel skill texture where the light hits the mid nose section which doesn't match the beautiful cheek texture and draws me away from the eyes - could be my screen resolution and angle or may benefit from a slight blur or heal to even out texture..
The fluffy rug on the floor while distraiting in one way also adds softness & romance to the image. Think I remove or clone over the light showing through the hair below the chin. Love the catchlights in the eyes.
Sure the lady will love the shots - very flattering.

I just adore the first and the third ones.... but the others are also cracking... brilliant portraits!

Nice work.

#1: Crop this square. Leave just a smidgeon of the white rug at the bottom, and then go from that starting point.

#3: The space on the lh side does nothing for me. crop it out; I suspect that a square crop will work for this image as well.

Oz Beachside: I actually had a hand shot before deciding to crop it. Only reason being was my friend pointed out the hand looked funny caase it was only showing the pinky and fourth finger. I'll keep it in mind next time.

Yi-P: It was actually the house that helped the lighting since it had lots of windows and white walls. To get a cooler look on the second pic I played with the curves reducing the contrast on the red channel.
There was more work done on the 3rd pic where the lighting was especially a bit dim on her face. To remedy that I created a mask and use curves layer to boost the brightness up without blowing out the whites around her.
To improve skin tones in all the first 3 pics I played around with curves.

Gary: Thanks mate. Trying to improve all the time. My plan was to actually crop these in a square format but I like to print my work on 8 x 12. However i'll try these and see how it looks like on print.
