Was asked to do some headshots for models last weekend.
It was for an upcoming fashion label...

These images were shot with flash bounced off a creamish ceiling hence the warm colour. Recently bought a grey card which had a white reflector, used that to reflect light back up . Models were holding the reflector.

Looked more flattering than just light from the top. Other model shots were very similar, hence I'll just post a couple.

Am absolutely loving the 28-70mm. so quick to AF compared to the 35-70mm.

No PP done to these images yet, just resized..

C&C welcome. - any advice to improve the posing would be very much appreciated - - - for the next show

I'd personally like more DOF in the 2nd one. I find the OOF hair a bit distracting. Nice big eyes though!

They all seem out of focus and a tad under exposed. You have the pose a bit more natural in the first one as it shows the make up and hair nicely.

Definately OoF at least with my eyes

Hi BlackD200. For me, the clarity of the dof is uncertain. I would also have liked to see the model set against more of a contrasting background, as I see her hair dissapearing into the background. Maybe a little bit more light into the eyes might help some more.

Initially I was thinking -- not bad not bad...

now I'm thinking, bugger - it does look out of focus and yes the hair in #2 is def oof. was using f2.8 on these - maybe I should have gone up a little -to even f4 or f5.6... I should also set the on camera sharpening - i had it on default ( not that this is the cause but may help a little ). just playing with Picture Project and the sharpening tool does make a slight difference.

awesome feedback guys... been a little shy to show some of my pics as seing so many stunning work in here. Only way to learn and improve is to put it out there hey.

When you're that close, don't shoot at f2.8 due to the shallower DOF. Also if you haven't started doing so, shoot in RAW. It will save you a lot of heartache in the long run.
