World Tower HDR Image

I took this from the 74th floor of the World Tower in Sydney the other day.

It is an HDR made of 5 separate images, 1 stop apart.

Kit: Nikon D2h, Sigma 12-24mm. Converted in Photomatix Pro, my latest favourite software.

I'm really liking the contrast gains in using this technique but i'm trying not to overdo it as i have seen in some other images. I am attempting to keep the contrast as natural as possible without making the image look 'plasticy.' C&C always welcome.

This is great Steve. It does appear to have a bluish cast - not sure whether the HDR
process lends itself to fixing a cast.

I am inspired to give the process a try.

Philip - It is there, maybe you encountered a 'momentary smugmug anomaly.'

Greg - You're right. It does seem to have a bluish caste to it. I'm not sure why. It can't be the white balance do to the HDR processing so it must be the result of the conversion. Still, it was an overcast evening, so it's not that unnatural.

The photo doesn't show up for me and the link to your website times out. Your red bubble link works though.
Edit: just tried http://www.smugmug.com and it times out.

Great view, and I love the detail that HDR brings out. Looks good too compared to the many that are overdone.
