Well I felt in the mood for a random selection of images as my earlier posts from my trip have all been sets of images.
So here we have a moody black and white from Brighton Beach (rokkstar helped me squeeze the best out of this with his PP tips and tricks).
We have two Eiffle tower shots to get them out of my system, neither fantastic, but if you feel they can be improved have a tinker or throw a suggestion at me.
Lastly we have one I like but has recieved mixed reactions from friends and its shot taken at the Louvre at night.
I might add #1 and #4 are available as prints and cards at Red Bubble.

I like #2 and #3, but #1 and #4 are just brilliant. I really like 4 as much as anything for the originality of the composition. It contrasts the old and new brilliantly, while being perfectly lit right from front to back. One of my Favs from your trip.

Craig, brilliant compositions in #1 and #2 and i think the reflected lighting against the building and on the water add great imapct to the last image. Terrific
cheers

Criag, that first short is fantastic, the way you have converted it and not lost the chairs to the background is excellent. It also makes us appreciate our beaches here.

WOW... #1 is brilliant - one of the simplest yet effective shots I've seen. It really pops out at you! I love the shot of the Louvre too - only suggestion is to cool the WB in it.

#1 Is probably one of the most processed shots you'll see from me as I was at Rokkstar's place in the UK and he walked me through using adjustment layers etc
Overall the process was
1. Photomatix merge of 3 exposures
2. Take the ordinary colour version and channel mix it to a nice black and white
3. Curves layer to bring out some extra contrast
4. Contrast layer to tweak it more
5. New duplicate layer to do a little a light dodge and burn
Volia.
Compared to my usual PP which at most is
Boost Contrast 5-10 bips and up staturation 5-10 bips.
