Rightio... I'll comment Bruce. Please don't take offense if I say anything too harsh.

Something about your colour is really off. You really need to get your screen calibrated as she is looking very much like an Oompa Loompa colour wise.

I think #3 is your best out of them. She's got an inviting smile and the composition is the best out of them.

#1 has a decent composition, but I'm more attracted to the negative space in your image (the white space) in that one as it seems to dominate the image more shape wise.

#2 and #4 should be cropped tighter. At the moment, they're unbalanced. Crop the legs so that they're balanced, not just cropped.

Can't say that the concept grabs me..but a glass bowl and spoon may emphasise the chocolate more. The stainless steel bowl and the hybrid spoon doesn't work for me. Model is cute though. :)

I agree with Leigh about the color. The whole scene looks cold: lighting in the back, white hair, SS bowl and mismatched spoon. My favorite would be the first one. A couple more things I find distracting are the white socks and the cook top. Again I am no expert and this is just my opinion.
Cheers,
Gerard

What is it you are trying to achieve with the images? Is it meant to be erotica? Are you trying to say that melted chocolate is fun? Don't wear white when dealing with chocolate?

I think that is the problem I have with the images is that I don't know what they are showing me - other than a hot chick doing something.

I also find her hair somewhat distracting. Maybe it is her natural colour, but it looks a bit "blue rinse" for me. She's not Dame Edna's niece, is she?

As with Leigh's comments, mine are not meant to cause offence.

I really like the concept in these 2 sets.... but im probably biased towards beautifull women just lookin pretty!

One thing with this set, i think it'd probably work well if the entire kitchen was lit up evenly. Other than that, you probably don't need to crop as tight, it can always be done in PP later.

Other than that its a good set.... but where are the pics when things get "messy!"

very early in my time in here someone said, "its easy to take nice pictures of beautiful women". I keep that in mind, each time, so that I improve my photography ahead of that thought.

Agree with the cropping, its a bad habit.

Lighting was a mix of sunlight through the large white window, and flash. As the clouds come and go, the lighting was difficult to control. Antsl had a good suggestion to do it at night, with the flash outside the window, and that would give me better control.

As for the messy pics  , well, I ran out of cards, as I have one on order (now 6 weeks late).

thanks ATJ,

agree, and have been working hard on my color management. you may see her skin tones as very warm, its close to actual, WB is set with a grey card, and this should be as close to actual.

The hair color is her choice, so not something I could influence.

Back onto your good question of objective/theme, well, we were aiming to reproduce an idea we had seen, so lots of the ideas came from that. Our intention was to shoot a cheeky shot, in beauty/glam, of a "I shouldnt be doing this" concept (non sexual). I feel we acheived this, but lots to improve on a variety of areas.

thanks, I appreciate your feedback. I hadnt thought much about the bowl and spoon. we put these props together the morning off, from what we had available, but I can see your point, and will keep that in mind for next time.

If it is for her portfolio she probably needs to do a bit of acting and get into character. i.e. she should really think that she'd doing something naughty and it will show in her face.

the body reminds me off my wife, yeah I'm still pinching myself, but the hair reminds of an old women pushing a trolley full of aluminium cans around the burbs.

no 1 is best pose by far, prob based purely on her expression. The other 3 if you crop out the bowl are great head shots, but the expression doesn't suit the scene.

and she a tad orange, like others have mentioned.
