Stubbsy in NZ - Pt 10

Well it's been a long while between drinks, but I've finally started on the PP of the second half of shots taken when Sheepie & I visited NZ in February. This is the first of the batch of images from the South Island.

If you want to see earlier batches (the North Island) they are linked below:

Part # 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

The first three images below were taken with the 28-70/f2.8, but the last was taken with the Nikkor 10.5 Fisheye and 90% defished using DxO Optics Pro

This first shot was from deck 9 of the interisland ferry (we travelled on the Kaitaki). As we left Wellington a thick sea fog rolled in to blanket us for the entire 3 hour trip to the South Island.

Image

After a smooth trip the fog finally lifted as we entered the Marlborough Sounds on our way to berth at Picton.

Leaving Picton we were blessed with more great February weather with much of the countryside being grazing lands as we headed across to the West Coast

Of course there was also the typical NZ volcanic scenery like this

A nice variance of subject matter and scenary in this group of images Peter. The one that least appeals to me, and that's not to say it's not good, is the first one. I love the scenary and scerenity of the other ones, which in my mind look like NZ! The last one looks like it's been 100% defished, it's hard to determine any distortion. THe loan sailing boat too is beautiful.

Lovely stuff!

My favourite is #2 and I like all the landscape ones 2-4, but like Geoff the first doesn't provide the impact.

2,3 and 4 are picture perfect! Contact the NZ tourist Department and start negotiating. :D

Peter - #1 is outstanding - a beautiful light plus the brand new liner and the old, rusty ship adds a dramatic impact to this pic. I am also liking #3 :)

Thank you all for your comments. It's interesting especially to hear the divergent views on #1.

Wow! # 2, 3 and 4 are amazing. Great colours and exposure. Wall-hanging stuff! Great looking place in the eyes of a great photographer. Keep it up.

The third one is quite enlightening. I did not know there were COWS in NZ, or are they very large brown sheep?

I like the last one, even though it has ducks in it. :)

Nice series again Peter.

I love NZ. It is the single most stunning place for scenery. You have done it proud with these shots. The colors are amazing. How much Post processing was done for the blues in the last two sky shots.

Some stunning landscapes there, Peter, as usual. I love no. 2. The composition and clarity are amazing.

#2 is excellent Peter. Colour and composition spot on. You have captured both the sense of isolation and grandeur brilliantly :)
cheers
