Does this work? trying something a little different from the norm.

Was taken with the D200 and 70-200VR with 1.7TC, ISO500.

C+C welcome.

Thanks,

I don't think it works Brett. Exposure and sharpness are fine but the composition is lacking: I don't know where to look. Clearly the Porsche is a focal point, but the masrhals and their post behind are distracting and I end up flicking my eyes between the two and not looking in detail at either. The marbles in the foreground are interesting and work well, but the background in the middle and to the left is pretty dull. Car orientation is ok, would like to see a bit more of the wheels perhaps.

sort of, almost, yes but not quite. yeah.

is that clear? :D

I like the more detail, the marshals, the rubber on the road, for me, I think its the barrier horizon, or the dirt/grass...

I'm thinking angle of attack/view/camera. Lower, maybe higher, maybe move more right? of course this is easy for me to say, but I cant see that this might be the best position to the sideways action, or light under car, or body roll...

I like the elements, less the 50:50 background...

as i said before... i reckon the marshalls should be doing something like waving a flag, and maybe it would help if the porsche and the marshalls werent at either side of the image?

Yeah would have been good to have the marshals doing something and being closer to the car rather than opposite sides of the frame... Can't win them all on that one though.

I'll post up a couple of others for your consideration shortly...

Nice mate. The first one doesn't do much for me, but the other three are spot on. The BMW is extremely good, sharp, great panning, perfect shutter speed and everything. Maybe a bit more contrast and saturation? Nice crop also.

NICE!!! :D

Yeah I agree, that would make the last three great shots into awesome shots. 8)

Updated the last three shots... More contrast and more saturation. Not sure if I went overboard on the red channel :D

I wouldn't worry about playing round in the colour levels. Just brightness, contrast and saturation. I hope you don't mind, I had a play around with the BMW image (cause it's so damn good :) )

I have reduced the brightness to get rid of the 'washed' feel to the background, increased contrast to make the blacks 'black' and a slight increase in saturation.

If you want me to remove the image, let me know. Hope I haven't overstepped the mark :)

Not overstepped at all...

I don't mind people editing my pics to show me something :)

I've re-done them again (have a look at let me know what you think) I'll have to print them out to be sure :)

Cheers
