Hi all,

I went up to lake Eucumbene today to have a look at our dwindling water supplies

I have had a look at old Adaminaby which is starting to emerge from the lake.

You can see footings, rubble and what may have been rows of planted trees - however very difficult to photograph.

I' like to show you 4 images of the area.

Nice images. I was actually there in April this year and must admit didn't get much in the way of good photos. Was middle of the day and had two weary fellow travelers ready to hit the road home to sydney after a week of camping.

Was quite surreal looking at the lines of trees that must have lined the streets all those years ago. Wish I'd though to get the detail shot of the cracked mud. Great shot. Maybe I'll steal the idea when I'm in Goulburn in a couple of weeks.

Love the 1st one, very very nice. Great sharpness and detail, the pp brings it out really well. The depth of the cracks show the extent of the problem there.
2nd, 3rd and 4th don't do anything for me, I'm not sure how well they show the water situation too well either. The trees underwater make it look a bit like the water level has recently risen over the trees. Not too sure about the PP or angles on them either. Perhaps a lower angle and a bit more contrast would have looked a bit better on 2 and 3.
The last one is way over done. There is no definition left. The B&W also means that you can't see that the tree has been submerged based on it's condition.

I absolutley agree with the terrible water situation and I can apppreciate what you are saying - in fact i just shot the press conference for a new, carbon free, renewable energy and water initiaive from a company called Carnegie who the gov't invested $700 mil in to last week - I'm just not sure about the shots in terms of pp and angles.

I really like the look of the second one, but I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just all those naked trees.

First two are great, but the second is my pick of the bunch. Love the clouds rolling all the way into the background

Fantastic shots.
I haven't been to Eucumbene since i was a kid. The water level looks quite low.
Its scary to think that if we dont get a decent snowfall this year to melt into these lakes that the Hydro Electric scheme will suffer to a such degree that the pundits are stating that there will be Brownouts as soon as next year!

very strong and impactful images of the current situation. Maybe send them to the pollies to think about rather than sitting on their rear ends thinking that the rains will come and solve everything.
