Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

The conversions are very nice Wendell, even if they do lack grain.

I must say, I think their skin is too smooth for the look and I think #3 is nice but the composition's framing kills it for me.

My choices are #1 and #4.

#1, #2 and #4 for me. Very clean and elegant outcome from the conversions. I love a good black and white when it's done properly.

Striking images - #1 and #4 are my favourites. In #1 is it my imagination or does the fade-to-black colour of the model's left arm remain every so slightly less dark than the background? If so, awesome!!!!

Hi Wendell,
Normally I just like to look, not comment as you are way out of my league.
In this case
#1 WOW
#2 The model's skin is too smooth for my taste. Also, I find the pose disturbing. The hunched over look could read as "I'm tired. When can I go home", but to me it just accentuates the model's skinniness
#3. The reflections in the eyes bother me. Is this an alien?
#4. WOW

What's this against the grain stuff Firsty? I think you and I have it right #3 all the way. It's a knock out! :)

The conversions and composition are great. I'd like to see a little more attention paid to the overall exposure that your using. In each of these images, you appear to have extended beyond the effective contrast range available to you, resulting in some blown highlights right across the board.

I love how you've kept the shadow detail, and you have a full range of greys, which is all good, but the blown highlights spoil these for me. Pull the main light down by about a stop, and then see how these look.
