The same day i shot the lightning pic elsewhere in this forum, i also took a few pics of kayakers and rafters at the Penrith White Water Centre, the site of the Sydney 2000 Olympic white water events.

My 34 pic gallery is now up and can be viewed at the following link;

Exifs are available onsite.

Let's see if anybody can guess the lens i used :)

To wet your appetite, here are two examples.

Hi Steve,

Really like the first image, the consentration on the guy is very intense.

The second image I am not to fond of, just don't like the expression.

Looks like you had a fun day out there though.

I was at work this morning and my boss was looking through the storm images on the web (morning herald? or telegraph?) and your lighting image came up... I was able to say "Hey, I have meet the guy that took that"

Hopefully a long lens or you spent a lot of time wiping and drying!

Nice images, pity the fellows concerned wern't wearing something flouro or a tad more colourful, I'm just a colour freak, but great action shot nevertheless.

Can't guess which lens tho!

agree, great shots - and my money is on the Nikkor 70-300 ED

You captures some great expressions and the use of the hight sutter speeds froze the water wonderfully.

cheers,

Yes my guess is the 70-300G - whoops you’ve already said that

But seriously they are great shots from that particular lens but then it is in very competent hands

Great shots Steve, You've made me feel better about my purchase of the 70-300g. BTW do you know the guys on the photos? If they're not friends you should try selling some to them.

Brighten them up a tad Steve. Water's supposed to be white, not middle grey.

Chi - The water IS grey :) it's all natural 8)

Phil - Some of the guys and gals in the pics are Olympians, so probably won't be all that interested in buying photos from an amatuer (or a pro for that matter)

Man... they gotta sack their publicity officer. I know it's a low profile sport but those faces certainly don't ring a bell with me.
