I think the first of these is as good a portrait of Peter as we are ever going to see.

I love #1. It is excellent.

The other two don't do much for me. I think the problem is the huge gap between the sign and Stubbsy.

The first is awesome. Like the way even the bottles are gunning for him!

I agree with Gary - this is indeed an exceptional shot. Beautiful balance of subject and light - and, it’s in colour.

#2 and #3 - ”hello, auntie Mavis, this is me on my holiday” - in the humour section, maybe

I agree, that first is great.

Me too, the first one that is.
Great portrait of Peter surrounded by one of his other passions.

2 & 3 - It's a shame the sign is so high up on the wall, makes composing a good shot difficult.

#1 needs a sign too - "Uncle Peter's Wines" :D

Great image Leigh.

The first portrait could happily grace the cover of a weekend newspaper epicure and wine lift-out section with Stubbsy as the subject of interest. :)

It's very good.

#1 is one of the best shots I've seen here in ages. You've captured character and mood so convincingly (and in colour!), it's fantastic. Was this a candid or staged?

I rarely stage shots of people unless it's for a series in a studio or similar environment, and it's usually a self-portrait if it's staged.

These were candids as Sheepie & Stubbsy were picking a dinner wine as well as wines to bring up to Byron on the Thursday before the weekend.

#2 and 3 are ok (I like 3 better than 2), but #1 is simply awesome. Fantastic stuff Leigh!

I like the first Leigh, but I'd be included to crop the top to just above the bottom part of the beam on the left hand side, hard to explain, but keep the dull underside in and cut out the brighter side. But that said by keeping it as you are, you make it clear he's in a cellar... so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about ?]
