Took this shot last night overlooking Mutton Bird Island with the full moon rising. It actually wasn't this yellow, but a simple levels adjustment gives it a cheesy colouring.

The date for Easter is set by the moon. Specifically, it is the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox (remember this is a Northern Hemisphere thing!) Thus the moon will always be just a bit after full on Easter Sunday.

Next year will be the earliest date for Easter in centuries.

Dan, was just a simple levels adjustment, sliding the black all the way to the right and voila!

How come there is a halo (artifacts from PP'ing) around the moon (that usually means that it's been either over sharpened - noise reduction software has been used or that it's been placed there from a different shot - not saying it has mind you).

You have definitely done something to it.....its visible?

Alright Dan, you've now got me thinking, I'm almost positive I didn't sharpen it, but I could be wrong. (I'm wrong fairly regularly )

I have tried for the last 10 minutes to replicate the effect but can't quite remember how I did it...I'll keep trying and report back.

I've remembered how I did it - select using magic wand tool (+ "grow" a few times), inverse selction, then adjust levels, sliding black button to "180", darkening only the moon and the hill but not the sky. There most probably will be better ways to do it but that's what came to mind at the time.
