Very nice work, can you share how you took the shot ? Lighting, shutter, etc...

I like how it's nicely exposed for the amibient..

I assume you just light him up with flash at the top of his air, and dragged the shutter to get the nicely exposed sky ?

Thanks guys,

Sure Craig, no time to think really. I've used my Fisheye Nikon 10.5 f2.8 and D200 plus a Sync cord with sb-600 in my left hand and the D200 in my right hand. Settings were 1/250 f2.8 iso 400.

95% of my skate photos are shot without looking into the viewfinder so it's just a matter of pre-focus (when you can) and shoot in CH, C for the len. The flash setting I can't remember. If you can imagine having the flash in the left hand spread out wide (arms length) and the Camera close to the ground pointing up in that general direction of the skater, that is usually the style.

This guy is Jackson Pilz, a 15 year old from the Sunshine Coast who is sponsored by Billabong. The photo was taken early this year in Canberra (Belconnon)

Here is one from Bondi last month of Sergie Ventura from USA. Very close.

That's a stunner! One of the paths to success as a photographer is to specialise and it seems you have the skill in action/sports. May there be many more.
