I've finally got around to posting some more pics.

These were taken on my recent trip to NZ. Both taken with my D70 and 70-200VR.

ISO was accidently left on 1000 :x so there's a bit of noise floating around.

I would have taken some more but my lens mount fell off again.

No 2 has a very pleasing composition. I love the way the OOF rope leads to the main subject.

Second one is fantastic!

The spray from the boat has framed the bottom section pointing me to the rope which leads me to the skier and the look of determination, his angle of attack and the spray from the ski. Love it!

Nice shots... I really must dust of the old ski's and hassle that mate with a boat.

I personally find the top of the pole in the second shot a tad distracting, but aside from that they make me yearn for some silky water to carve up!

Brad

#2 is brilliant. Great DOF, well composed (although I'd be inclined to crop to remove the pole at the bottom) and a good feeling of action. #1 doesn't work as well because we have the rope coming in from lower right which somehow distracts from the central focus of the image (the skiier).

Oh and where's the snow?

cool shots, #2 for me too. i have quite a few times left the ISO on high! wish the D70 would show what it's on...

does the D200 show the ISO value in use?

i just noticed 'low gain up' in your EXIF. What does this mean?

cheers..

No idea, I've never noticed it before. Anyone able to enlighten us?
