"Talcum Powder and Feathers" - Adelaide Fringe 200

Shot a performance by a collective of ballet dancers and musicians from around Australia and Canada last Friday night at the Fringe Factory Theatre. It was a very different "interpretive dance" performance which I'm still struggling to describe. Two ballet dancers, lots of feathers and talcum powder dancing to a string quartet.

Either way, really funky costumes and some nice lighting, had pretty much free reign with the video guy to be wherever we wanted on/behind stage which was pretty cool.

What a great set. I especially like the third one.

No.2 does it for me, although I would probably like to see a crop with a little less black space on the left.

Great shots Ronnie!

The second is my favourite, it has that modern art post processed look that you see on the cover of Photoshop magazines! Yet is all natural.

The bow in the first distracts me a little (actually to be honest it took me a minute or two to actually realise what it was!).

Lovely collection and a slight departure from some of your other work, for me #2 is the standout, tells the story, the pixel projector of the face is a awesome affect.. great stuff.

No. 2 is amazing, both compositionally, expsure wise and sharpness at such shutterspeed. Did you use IS?

Thanks for the comments guys - just dropped off the images to the director as well.

IS is pretty much taped down on my 70-200 and as #2s shown, it's saved my ass many a time :)

hey beautiful work and wonderful subject matter

that 2nd one is exactly what i love that interesting interplay of light
i hope you got a chance to do more intimate setup shots after the show
i'd do everything to keep the dance contract it's amazing and totally rewarding subject matter.
